Yakubu Aiyegbeni has returned to English football for the first
time since leaving to Qatar.
The prolific striker who was niknamed Yakubull due to his
aggresive style of play signed for Reading as a free agent till the
end of the season.

This makes Reading the sixth English team he is kitting up for.
He last played for Al Rayyan in Qatar and in England he played
for Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton, Leicester City, and
Blackburn Rovers.

He left Ewood Park 3 years ago for Guangzhou FC in Chinese
football, He had scored 17 goals in 29 Premeir league games for
Blackburn despite the team getting relegated.
The Reading manager, Steve Clarke, told the Reading website:
“Yakubu brings a fantastic scoring record to this club and his
addition will complement the strikers we’ve already got and help us
to improve as a team in latter stages of the season.

“I know all about him as a player and I have heard very good reports
about him as a personality in the dressing room. He is no-risk
signing for us and I look forward to him scoring goals.”
Reading are 16th in the table, only seven points above the
relegation zone and Clarke will hope Yakabu – who has scored
nearly 150 goals in English football – can instantly find form.
